A Quick Guide To ESD Projections For Expatriate Visa Applications
For employers who are eligible to employ expatriates and have registered an ESD account, quota projections are a mandatory annual declaration where each employer lists the number of roles that they predict will need a new Employment Pass (EP) or Professional Visit Pass (PVP) in the following year.
It is accessible via the employer’s ESD account and usually opened every December.

Compared to the other steps in EP applications, ESD projections are relatively simple, and here’s what employers should keep in mind:
- quotas are not used up for expatriate visa renewals, only new applications
- you can apply for anywhere from one to 100 roles per submission
- you can submit further quota applications later
- quotas are instantly approved
- there is no penalty for unused quotas, but they cannot be carried over to the next year
For this reason, there is no harm in submitting a quota projection beyond confirmed needs, since at worst the quota just goes unused.
That’s really all there is no know about this topic, and so we wish you all the best with your EP application!
